BetMGM is now legal in Kansas. Having received the green light from the KGRC, which has been tasked with overseeing the state’s licensing process.
Previously, Governor Laura Kelly signed the bipartisan sports betting bill into law at a ceremony in Topeka back in May, and it came into effect on July 1. At a recent press conference, Gov. Kelly revealed that regulators were working towards a goal of launching by Week 1 of the upcoming NFL season – which begins with the Buffalo Bills at the LA Rams on Thursday, September 8. They have now hit that landmark and are officially ready to go in the Sunflower State.
Despite previous doubts, a subsequent interview from KGRC government affairs director Todd Allen revealed that members had not yet voted on draft regulations at that time. However on August 12, the KGRC concluded and soon after announced official launch plans for the first day of September 2022 - just in time for the NFL season!
People wanting to visit NFL betting sites in the state can now do so with the first operators to launch of which BetMGM is one, and it has a market access route via Kansas Star Casino.

You will not be able to access the online casino when using BetMGM in Kansas. The BetMGM sportsbook Kansas launch is expected to take place during the upcoming NFL season, but the law does not include online casino gaming.
