Under 2.5 goals in Saturday's 4 La Liga games 5/1 with William Hill

Alaves to End Away Goal Drought

It's been a difficult start to the season for Alaves in La Liga. They enter the latest round of fixture second from bottom but a trip to fellow strugglers Cadiz offers them a chance to kickstart their campaign. Cadiz are 16th in the table and defeat will see their opponents close to within a point of them.

Away games have been problematic for Abelardo Fernandez's side which three defeats from three and no goals scored in each of those contests. There is hope for Alaves in that Cadiz have failed to win any of their five home games this season and their home fans have not seen them score in their last three home games.

Alaves are 7/5 with Bet365 to score one goal this weekend at Cadiz which they managed on their last visit to the Ramon de Carranza last season. Given Cadiz's lack of goals at home and Alaves' inability to score away from home, a third successive 0-0 home draw for Cadiz is available at 6/1 with MansionBet.

Athletic Bilbao Are First Half Draw Specialists

Don't be surprised if Athletic Bilbao's home game with Villarreal is all square at half-time. Bilbao are the first half draw experts with six of their eight La Liga games being level at the interval. And their visitors to the at the San Mames are Villarreal who have gone in at the break on level terms with their opponents.

All five have been goalless first halves, which matches Bilbao's total of first periods without a goal. The last three times Villarreal have travelled to Bilbao, the scores have been level at the interval and BetVictor are offering odds of 20/21 for this contest to be all square at half-time. A 0-0 draw after 45 minutes offers greater value with SpreadEx offering 6/4 for a goalless first half.

If you find yourself with a free bet from your chosen bookmaker, why not try it on this bet.

Lack of Goals Makes La Liga Boring

There was a time when La Liga was must-see TV especially when Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi plied their trade in the Spanish top flight. Since they have gone their separate ways, the Spanish league has failed to capture the imagination. Last season, La Liga games averaged 2.51 goals per game, but that number has dropped to 2.22.

Last weekend was another particularly uninspiring round of games with just 15 goals scored in the eight matches that were played. The weekend before that, the average was just 1.4 goals per game. Saturday games in La Liga seem to be the problem.

The last 13 matches played on a Saturday have failed to see produce three goals or more. The last time over 2.5 goals paid out on the first day of the weekend was on September 18 when Real Vallecano beat Getafe 3-0. Since then, the 13 fixtures have combined for a total of 14 goals. There are four games scheduled to be played this Saturday and under 2.5 goals in all four is priced at 5/1 with William Hill.
