Premier League Preview Show – 27th January 2023

With no Premier League action this weekend, the FA Cup takes center stage in this week's episode. The lads begin with a quick recap of Arsenal's win against United last Sunday. There is unanimous praise for Mikel Arteta's men, with Gav and Paul particularly impressed by how relentless they were in the final half-hour of the game.

The future of Harry Kane is then briefly discussed with Jamie unsure as to whether his long-term future will be at Spurs. Gav highlights how Man United are crying out for a player like Kane to fill the void they currently have in that position.

The first game under the microscope is Manchester City vs Arsenal. Despite Arsenal's excellent recent form, they still go into this the +333 (100/30) underdogs on betting sites. Liam reckons Arteta will field a strong team in this game, however, Jamie isn’t so sure and thinks we’ll see some rotation as they look to focus on the league. Despite differing opinions on how Arsenal will line up, all three of the panel predict a narrow win for Pep Guardiola’s men.

Brighton vs. Liverpool is next up, and the lads are full of praise for how Brighton have performed thus far, with a special mention for young talent Evan Ferguson. Gav can’t bring himself to bet against Liverpool, though, and thinks Jurgen Klopp may be able to get a reaction out of his team this week.

The lads then brush over some of the other high-profile ties including both Man United and Tottenham’s games against Reading and Preston, respectively. The show wraps up with some transfer talk before the window slams shut next week. Each of the lads nominate a transfer for their own club that they’d like to happen; a transfer within the EPL that they definitely think will happen; and a surprise transfer they think could materialise.
