Lingfield Park is in Surrey, 4km north of East Grinstead. It is on the B2028 and 12km south of J6 of the M25 via the A22.
Lingfield rail station is on the London Victoria-East Grinstead line and a pleasant 10-minute walk through parkland to the racecourse.
Lingfield Park was opened by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) in 1890. It was the first British racecourse to stage all-weather racing in November 1989. That Equitrack surface was replaced by Polytrack in 2001. Lingfield also hosts turf flat meetings in the summer and winter jumps fixtures.
Lingfield Park is a left-handed undulating triangular track with the all-weather on the inside of the turf course. The turf course, at one and a half miles (2400m) round, is sharp enough and there is a straight track of seven furlongs and 140 yards (1530m). There is a pronounced bias to the stands railmaking a high draw advantageous. Ground can become very soft in the winter.
The all-weather course is very tight and it certainly pays to be prominent. Bumpers are normally held on the all-weather but often turn into unsatisfactory speed tests.
After years of complaints over the lack of quality racing on all-weather tracks, the All-Weather Championships were launched in 2013 with Lingfield selling out for the first Finals Day on Good Friday in 2014.
Lingfield continues to stage this hugely popular raceday with the card consisting seven Class 2 conditions races featuring horses who have won qualifying races throughout the season on all-weather tracks in Britain, Ireland and France.
Lingfield Park Racecourse is the busiest racecourse in Europe with over 80 fixtures across the year, with flat, jump and all weather racing and to get some promotions and top prices take a look at our best bookmakers, where you might be able to pick up some free bets.
