When it comes to the most popular markets on NHL betting sites, the top three tend to be team-based markets. Most often, the Moneyline, Puck Line and Total Goals markets will be presented front and centre, and they represent the majority of bets that bookmakers will take on any given game. If you are looking to be on these markets, it can be helpful to be familiar with some of the most important team statistics, such as those presented on the table below.
If you prefer to place your bets on player-based markets, such as skater or goalie NHL prop bets, then we have that covered below also. Use our player stats to inform your choices, and make sure to check out our lineup news to complement these stats.

The Colorado Avalanche are one of the most recognizable NHL franchises, despite only being formed in 1995. The organization came into being when the Quebec Nordiques were purchased by COMSAT Entertainment Group in Denver, ending a 13-year NHL absence in the Mile-High City, after the Colorado Rockies had become the New Jersey Devils in the early 1980s.
It didn’t take very long for the Avs to become a success, winning the Stanley Cup in their very first season in Denver, the first time that a relocated NHL franchise won the cup in their first season in their new home. The Avs repeated their Stanley Cup victory in 2000-01 and were divisional champions for their first eight seasons, from 1995-96 to 2002-03. A third Stanley Cup came more recently, when Cale Makar was named MVP as the Stanley Cup returned to Denver after the 2021-22 season. Makar is the most recent in a long list of elite names to have donned the burgundy jersey, along with teammates Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen.
Such has been their level of achievement in such a relatively short space of time, there are already six retired Avalanche jersey numbers in the rafters at Ball Arena. Joe Sakic, Patrick Roy, Peter Forsberg, Milan Hejduk, Adam Foote and Ray Borque have all been bestowed with the honour. Sakic’s banner features the captain’s “C” that he wore proudly for 18 of his 20 seasons in Quebec and Colorado, before moving into the front office after his retirement, eventually leading the team as general manager to their third cup victory in 2022, winning GM of the year.
