When it comes to the most popular betting markets in the NHL, there are three markets that account for the majority of wagers on NHL betting apps. Firstly, you have Money Line betting. This is a two-way market, with betting on which team you think will win the game, and always includes overtime. Secondly, you have the Puck Line. This is known as a spread, or handicap market, and applies a positive and negative value to each team. If your team manages to win, when the puck line value is added to their score, then your bet is a winner. Usually, the Puck Line values are +/- 1.5 goals. And thirdly, you have the Total Goals market. This is a line-based market, allowing you to bet on whether you think there will be more (Over) or less (Under) than the specified number of goals in the game, including overtime.
Each of those three markets, and more again besides, lend themselves nicely to studying the form. For example, certain teams might tend to be involved in low-scoring games recently, due to being well-organized defensively. Others might trend towards high-scoring games due to focusing primarily on their offense. Whatever that trend might be, you should be well placed to identify it, using the team stats tables below.

The Columbus Blue Jackets joined the NHL at the turn of the 21st Century, making their debut alongside the Minnesota Wild in the 2000-01 season. Success has been thin on the ground in Columbus, with the team winning just two playoff rounds in their first twenty seasons, the first of which came, eventually, in 2018-19. Despite their lack of success, the Blue Jackets have only held the first overall pick in the NHL draft on one occasion.
That pick, back in 2002, was Rick Nash, who went on to become the franchise’s one and only retired number. Nash shared the Rocket Richard trophy as the NHL’s joint top goalscorer in 2003-04, scoring 41 goals. Nash holds the record for most Blue Jackets’ points, with 547 points in 674 games. Another notable individual who achieved success with Columbus is Sergei Bobrovsky, who won the Vezina Trophy twice in a five-season spell, whilst tending the Blue Jackets’ net.
In 2013, the Blue Jackets announced Jarmo Kekäläinen as their general manager, making them the first team in the history of the National Hockey League to appoint a European GM.
