FanDuel Review

FanDuel may have launched its sportsbook recently, but it had a history of providing customers with sports content long before becoming a bookmaker. Handy tabs at the top of the page enable you to switch between key sections like “My Bets”, “Promotions”, “My Account”, and other frequently-visited sections. Overall, we found that FanDuel Sportsbook offers a well-designed site that will be suitable for newcomers and experienced customers alike. 

We do have one criticism, which is that the main page can feel like a long list at times. Considering how many important resources you can find at the bottom of the page, the sportsbook will make you scroll through dozens of markets before you can get there.

FanDuel App

You can access the FanDuel Sportsbook on your mobile device in two different ways. Either visit the bookmaker’s mobile site through your mobile web browser, or download the FanDuel betting app. We recommend the latter, which you can download from your phone’s app store. If the app store in your state does not feature the FanDuel app, you can visit the bookmaker’s website from your mobile device and find direct download links on the homepage. 

The iOS app has slightly higher user ratings than the Google app. However, there is no major difference between the two interfaces. The FanDuel site lists exactly which documents you need to provide to prove your identity. You will need copies of your ID (such as a driver’s license, passport or state ID), proof of address (a utility bill with your name on it, for example), and proof of banking method used (this can be a picture of your credit card or bank statement). FanDuel Payment Methods

Our reviewers were slightly disappointed with the payment methods on offer from such a large sportsbook as FanDuel. The online bookmaker gives customers the option to deposit through credit cards like Visa and Mastercard. Other credit cards, like American Express and Discover, are not accepted. 

There are other methods that you can use for deposits but not withdrawals. These include bank transfers and PayNearMe. The PayNearMe card allows customers to top up their balance from chain stores around the country like Seven-Eleven. Other than convenience, many bettors prefer this payment method as it is an excellent way to control your funds. 

FanDuel works very closely with the Play+ card service. With Play+, customers can fund their account with real money and use it to add to their sportsbook balance. FanDuel does not support a wide range of e-wallets as do other competitors. However, for instant deposit and quick withdrawals, you can use PayPal on the FanDuel site. 

If you are close to a FanDuel retail sportsbook or casino partner, you can make deposits and withdrawals in person at the casino cage or sportsbook counter. 

Withdrawal times vary between payment methods. PayPal is by far the fastest, with transactions sometimes clearing in a matter of hours. At most, these withdrawals usually take two days. Overall, we were impressed with its sports betting’s range and depth, which should meet most people’s needs.

FanDuel Customer Support

Sportsbooks have access to your personal details and financial information. You should be able to reach out for help when you need it. You can find the customer support section of the site on the left-hand side of the page. There will be a “Support” tab you can click to be taken through to FanDuel’s resources. 

The sportsbook will try to direct you to its FAQs from this page, which is a great place to look for solutions and troubleshoot yourself. The FAQs has a search bar that makes finding answers easier, and there are resources on payments, retail locations, and more.

If you need further assistance, you can get in contact via live chat. This is by far the most convenient way of resolving issues and is available on a 24/7 basis, which US bettors will definitely appreciate. 

One problem we found with the live chat was the “FanDuel Coach” bot. Before getting in contact, you will be asked to provide your name, email, and question. That is standard practice. You will then be directed to a chatbot that will ask you if you want to ask your question or connect to an agent. In either case, you will have to type your question out again. To be honest, this feature is more of a hindrance than a help. If we were in charge, we would sack the “Coach”. 

There is also an option to email customer support if you prefer or have been asked to provide documents or further information.

FanDuel Casino Review

The FanDuel casino option is not available in most states. The online casino platform is an impressive option for customers based in New Jersey, West Virginia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. The site features a strong selection of the best slot games, provided by leading developers like NetEnt, Red Tiger Gaming, IGT, and more. FanDuel Directory

Arizona

Arizona sports betting sites became legal on September 9, 2021, and FanDuel’s site launched that very same day. The sportsbook also launched its retail sportsbook lounge at the home stadium of the state's famous NBA team, the Phoenix Suns. Colorado

FanDuel has been available since online sports betting launched in Colorado on May 1, 2020. As it launched, the site partnered with the Golden Gates Casino to deliver a land-based way of accessing the sportsbook. Anyone accessing the desktop site or app will see it’s specially branded with the logos of the state’s proud NFL team, the Denver Broncos. The Colorado Division of Gaming licenses FanDuel.

Connecticut

FanDuel was one of only three sportsbooks allowed to welcome bets from customers when Connecticut online sports betting was legalised on October 19, 2021. That was thanks to the sportsbook’s partnership with Mohegan Sun Casino. That partnership extends to its sports betting license, as the site is regulated by the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Commission.  

Illinois

Illinois online sports betting was legalised on March 9, 2020, with FanDuel starting to take bets in August of that year. The Illinois Gaming Board licensed the sportsbook, and the company has its own branded land-based sportsbook location. The FanDuel Sportsbook and Racetrack at Fairmount Park lets customers bet on live horse racing and use the retail sportsbook facilities. 

Indiana

Indiana started welcoming online sports bettors in September 2019, and soon after FanDuel became available to customers on October 22, 2019. The Indiana Gaming Commission licenses the sportsbook. In the Hoosier State, the sportsbook’s land-based partner is the Blue Chip Casino. FanDuel also has a deal with the state’s famous NFL team, the Indianapolis Colts. Fans can buy a special fan pass that allows them benefits with both FanDuel and the Colts.

Iowa

Legal sports bets started being placed in Iowa in August 2019, and the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission licensed FanDuel to operate its site on September 9, 2020. In the Hawkeye State, the sportsbook is partnered with the Diamond Jo Casino.

Louisiana

Louisiana is looking to introduce online sports betting in early 2022, and the Louisiana Gaming Control Board has licensed FanDuel to launch in the state once the market opens. Thanks to its partnerships with major casinos, the sportsbook already has a significant presence in the Pelican State. These include the Amelia Bella Casino, Evangeline Downs, Delta Downs, Sam’s Town, and Treasure Chest Casino.

When Louisiana online sports betting does become legal, it will be important to check the laws of the parish from where you are playing. Each parish will have different regulations regarding online sports betting.

Michigan

The Michigan sports betting market was launched in December 2019. Fanduel Michigan launched its sportsbook in the following month, on January 22, 2021. The Michigan Gaming Control Board licenses the bookmaker. In the Great Lakes State, FanDuel has a partnership with the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit. The sportsbook has also signed a deal with the beloved NBA team, the Detroit Pistons. This means FanDuel can offer fans of the team special deals and promo codes.

New Jersey

New Jersey sports betting sites were one of the first to become legal in June 2018. This was no surprise given how strongly NJ’s governor at the time, Phillip D. Murphy, pushed for the PASPA to be repealed. The Garden State is the first place in the US FanDuel launched on July 14, 2018. New York

New York became the biggest betting market in the US when online sports betting was made legal at the start of 2022. Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania online sports betting became legal on May 31, 2019. FanDuel’s launch in the Keystone State followed shortly after on July 22, 2019. Tennessee

The FanDuel has been welcoming online sports bettors to their Tennessee sportsbook since November 1, 2020. This was the same date the Volunteer State legalised online sports betting. Sportsbooks operating in TN don’t need a land-based partner, so customers just need to access FanDuel via the app or desktop site. The sportsbook is licensed and regulated by the Tennessee Education Lottery. 

Virginia

Virginia started to allow online sports in April 2020. FanDuel’s app and desktop site became available to customers on January 21, 2021. In Virginia sportsbooks don’t need to be attached to a land-based partner. However, one of FanDuel’s partners, the NFL franchise Washington Football Team, has a significant presence in the state. Both its headquarters and training facilities are located here. The Virginia Lottery licensed FanDuel in the Old Dominion State.

West Virginia

Online sports betting was legalised in West Virginia on August 30, 2018. FanDuel started providing its sportsbooks on August 26, 2019. Anyone wanting to visit the sportsbook’s land-based partner in the Mountain State can visit the Greenbrier Resort. The West Virginia Lottery Commission licenses the sportsbook.
