Next Port Vale manager - Bookies make former QPR boss Hasselbaink 1/2 favourite

Queens Park have been having a torrid season in the Championship and it was hardly a huge shock when they parted company with manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. The Dutchman is now in the search for a new appointment and the vacant position at Port Vale may be the way forward for him with BetVictor making Hasselbaink 1/2 favourite to take over at Vale Park.

Port Vale's own poor string of recent results prompted the club to sack Bruno Ribeiro and QPR's loss may turn out to be Port Vale's gain. Indeed Hasselbaink has proven credentials at lower-league clubs with a spell at Burton Albion where he steered the side in the direction of the Championship.

Queens Park Rangers made the Dutchman an offer he apparently couldn't refuse and he headed off to Loftus Road, however things haven't worked out as well as expected and Hasselbaink will perhaps be tempted to move into a club with more realistic ambitions.

It may be that Hasselbaink won't relish a move down a division and should that prove to be the case, then the Port Vale board will need to look elsewhere. Micky Adams is 10/1 to make the move to Vale Park and he would be a popular choice having managed the club on two separate occasions before moving to Tranmere Rovers in October 2014.

Another possible candidate is Ronnie Moore, the former Tranmere Rovers and Hartlepool boss recently leaving his position as Eastleigh boss citing personal reasons for his departure. Moore is 14/1 and has proven credentials having managed numerous clubs at a similar level including Rotherham United and Oldham Athletic.

Paul Ince would perhaps be a surprise choice at 20/1 although like Moore he has a wealth of experience having managed the likes of Macclesfield, MK Dons and Blackburn Rovers. His most recent appointment was at Blackpool in 2013 where he left after less than a year in charge.
