Who is the Next Real Madrid Manager Favourite?

Massimiliano Allegri had been the bookies favourite to replace Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid before the Italian announced his return to Juventus. Now that the manager position of Los Blancos remains vacant, the best betting sites are offering odds of other top managers, that could fill in the position.

After rejecting to sell some key players in order to secure around £80 to cover the clubs' deficit, Antonio Conte decided to part ways with Inter Milan and since has become another high-profile managerial name thrown into the mix as Zinedine Zidane’s successor at Real Madrid.

The 51-year-old Italian has managed to end Juventus 9-year-long domination in Serie A, leading the Nerazzurri to their 19th league title, first since 2010 when Inter also won the Champions League.

Conte has been marked as a true winner and one that knows how to maximize the team's potential. He has done great things with Chelsea, leading The Blues to Premier League and FA Cup title, and his tough man-management character is certainly something that could motivate the uninspired Los Blancos. The question remains if Florentino Perez can secure enough funds for the upcoming transfer market, and will it be enough to lure in a high-profile managerial name such as Antonio Conte. The bookies, such as Paddy Power and Betfair, certainly think so as they have offered odds at 4/7 on Conte to be appointed the next Real manager.

Could Real Madrid Icon Raul Gonzalez be Their Next Manager?

Raul is a Real Madrid legend and he’s currently the manager of Real Madrid Castilla, effectively a B team who play in the Segunda Division. Castilla play their matches at the 6,000-capacity Alfredo di Stefano Stadium, which Real Madrid’s first team have been utilising for the 2020/21 season.

Raul devoted his playing days to Los Blancos and it’s entirely possible that he will be promoted from within when the role becomes vacant, with the 43-year-old having made an astonishing 550 appearances, scoring 228 goals for the Spanish club.

The bookies make Raul among the favourites at 5/2, although it might be regarded as a risk to give the former striker the nod considering that he’s still learning the ropes when it comes to football management. Raul also won’t want to tarnish his reputation considering he is rightly regarded as a club legend.

Mauricio Pochettino Also Among the Betting Favourites

Next to former Real Madrid star Raul, another big name appears among the potential candidates to take over Real Madrid. Mauricio Pochettino is the current manager of PSG, but many media outlets are reporting that Poch has been dealing with some unrest with PSG sporting director Leonardo, which could be the main trigger for Poch's departure from PSG this summer.

However, despite his friction with Leonardo, the reality is that Pochettino still has one more year on his contract with PSG, and it seems that the Les Parisiens are intent on keeping him until the end of his contract.

If PSG is keen on keeping Poch for another year, then Real Madrid will most likely back off from pursuing the Argentinian, mostly because of the fact that these rumors do not affect the Mbappe transfer talks as the Spanish club still hopes to sign the Frenchman this summer.

Could Joachim Low Take Charge at Real Madrid?

Joachim Low recently announced that he will step down as manager of the German national team at the end of Euro 2020 and it will be interesting to see what his next moves might be. After such a long time in charge of Die Mannschaft, there are now going to be opportunities to get involved with the bread and butter of club management.

Low famously won the 2014 World Cup with Germany and might relish the opportunity to work with the leading players at Real Madrid, although he has been in charge of the Germany national team since 2006 and his most recent club role was managing Austria Wien between 2003-4, so supporters are likely to be lukewarm on the prospect of this manager taking over.

However, according to recent news, Low has dismissed any rumors of him taking over any Spanish club after he officially steps down as the manager of the German national team this summer. Despite his most recent statements, the bookies are listing him as one of the highest favourites for the Real Madrid job, offering 5/2 odds.

Gian Piero Gasperini and Thomas Tuchel Outside Bets for Real Madrid boss

Gian Piero Gasperini and Thomas Tuchel have also been linked to the managerial role at Real Madrid, among many other candidates. The Atalanta boss has been linked with the job at Juventus and Tottenham, but now it seems that he has been put on Real Madrid’s radar and could be given another chance to lead a top-level club, after his short spell at Inter Milan back in 2011.

On the other side, the new betting sites have Tuchel also among the favourites to replace Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid, a prospect which might seem highly unlikely considering that the German has only recently arrived at Stamford Bridge, and has just led The Blues to their first Champions League title since 2012, with a 1-0 win over Manchester City.

Tuchel has made it clear, right after the UCL Final, that he expects a new contract from Chelsea, and should Abramovich hesitate with the negotiations, then Tuchel might find it difficult to ignore the possibility of him taking over the manager role at Real Madrid.
